Just a small perspective from yours truly. Having arrived in Manila on March 26, 2008 for a much needed vacation, I was scheduled to return to Toronto, Canada on July 7. This was a nice date to return to Toronto as I intended to attend the PMMAAI-NA reunion scheduled for July 11-13. July 7 arrived but since I had a flu, I rescheduled the flight to Toronto on July 10. July 10 arrived and I was ready to go. I knew it was going to be tough because I would be flying for 22 hours and 2 stopovers WITH my 2 kids aged 5 and 2. Deep inside, I knew that the kaldag of batches 81 and 83 would be easier compared to flying on a 23-hour flight with 2 young kids. Needless to say, I arrived in Toronto shell-shocked and sleep-deprived. It seems that kids nowadays have a knack of putting you in misery especially when they know that you're almost hallucinating due to lack of sleep. They could easily find ways to return to the toilet for another pee when in fact they just pee'd 15 minutes ago. They would not eat when meals are served and when the stewardess starts collecting the food, they tell you that they are hungry. One would be sleeping and the other wanting to walk around and 1 hour later....... .vice versa. |

To Al Romero, It was great to see you and your family again. Hoping your parents had a great time as well. To Rolly Abaigar - you also have a very youthful and pretty wife. I am also hoping that you will be accepted to the Canadian Coast Guard. We are just an hour away from Toronto. Anytime you come to the area please give me a call so you guys can be accomodated in our "palace". That's one of the pleasures of our reunion, you never know who the attendees are and each and evry one of us has our own yarn to tell. I'm sure everyone appreciated Col. Cruz and his wife dancing the night away. My classmate Tiyoy Balajadia who flew from Edmonton was also a pleasant surprise. Len Ticsay and Cynthia were a late addition, seeing them with their USMC son in full gala uniform was indeed a sight. It is every parent's wish to see their soldier sons and daughters out of harm's way - Len and Cynthia, you have our prayers that Robert will always be out of harm's way. Again my sincerest thanks to Tom, Aris and Dom for their great effort in helping the 2008 reunion be a success, same goes to Sir Nap and of course Zo Gabriel - the very first winner of the Cesar Grimares memorial Cup. To all the Texans and Californians and easterners- till we meet again, have a safe and great summer. Your Reunion 2008 hosts !!!! |
